What is Vedic meditation?
-
We spend most of our day experiencing Beta brainwaves. We can think of this as our thinking mind. It’s what we use to get our to-do lists done, show up at a meeting on time and generally function in the modern world. This technique is about moving beyond Beta towards deeper, slower brainwaves. What does this mean for you? It means increased connection to the emotional body, creativity, cognition and relaxation. Letting go is about transcending where you are to have an experience beyond yourself. For us, that’s the thinking mind.
-
We use a mantra to help catch the mind and draw it towards deeper, quieter states of being. We combine the use of a mantra with a simple, easy technique that teaches you how to let go. The best part is that by learning how to let go in meditation we learn how to let go in daily life. Think of meditation like a simulator - the more time you spend learning the more you’re able to put it into practice!
-
We aim to practice for 20 minutes, twice a day with the eyes closed. We practice sitting upright (think chair, couch, parked car or even your bed). We sit comfortably, easily and can move at any point if we get uncomfortable. You don’t need a meditation room, all you need is a place to sit and close the eyes. We always say wherever you can think, you can meditate.
-
Meditation benefits are cumulative - the more you do it the more you benefit! Each person is different and will gain what they need, but widely reported benefits include:
Noticeable reduction in stress, overwhelm and anxiety
Greater creativity and cognition
Reduces fatigue and increases sleep at night
Ongoing regulation of nervous system and reduction in overstimulation
Increase in clarity and decision making capacity
Greater energy and adaptability throughout the day
Feeling more confident, grounded and self-aware
Navigating high pressure situations with greater ease
Reduction in reactivity and improvement in personal relationships
The ability to be present with friends, family and loved ones.

The 4-session course

Session 1 (1.5hrs) - each person receives their own personal mantra and is taught the practice of Vedic meditation. This session will either be a 1:1 or small group session.
Session 2 (1.5 or 2hrs) - practice refinement, daily rhythms that support meditation and making meditation work for you.
Session 3 (1.5 or 2hrs) - exploring deeply the connection between the mind and body, releasing stress and why we really meditate.
Session 4 (1.5 or 2hrs) - the long term implications of a meditation practice, why embracing change is a good thing and how to move with evolution (and not against it).
By the end of the course you will be a confident and independent meditator, and become part of our worldwide community with access to lifetime support.
